Meanwhile, just twenty minutes south, Tweed Heads is quietly serving up river views, coastal headlands, and hinterland backdrops with a fraction of the crowds and none of the "let me just check my six other quotes" price tag. This is the bit couples don't expect: because Tweed Heads isn't as "branded" as Byron, venues, caterers, and accommodation often come in noticeably more affordable — without you sacrificing the coastal-hinterland aesthetic everyone's chasing. That saved budget goes a long way toward the photographer, the band, or just a better bar tab.
Easy for Guests, Too
Straddling the Queensland border means Tweed Heads is genuinely convenient, Gold Coast Airport is minutes away, so interstate and even international guests aren't stuck on a long transfer. Good for your guest list, good for your own stress levels in the lead-up.

Check border-adjacent logistics if your ceremony and reception venues sit on opposite sides of the NSW/QLD line council and licensing rules can differ.
Lock in golden hour by timing your ceremony around sunset over the river or headland; the light here is genuinely special.
Use the airport proximity to your advantage, it's a great excuse to add a welcome function the night before for guests flying in.
