FAQs
How much do my packages cost?
Most celebrants charge between $800 to $2,400 to write and deliver a customised wedding ceremony. There are some celebrants that charge more and some that charge less, however given the celebrant plays one of the most crucial roles in both the ceremony and legal element of your big day, it's a service you want to prioritise. Your celebrant (hopefully me) isn't just a centrepiece or prop, they are going to be a big part of the process and ultimately set the tone for the rest of the day. My pricing varies depending on the type of package you select. If you like what you see so far, please get in contact and I'll email you with a price list.
Do I MC?
I'm aware that I'm tooting my own horn here, but I truly can talk the talk and walk the walk (no biggie). I love to MC and I'm damn good at it. Like I've said before, the celebrant sets the tone for the day and the MC carries it into the night. For an additional fee, I can host your entire day's festivities from the aisle to dance floor.
Choosing an MC is an integral piece of the puzzle when planning your wedding. It's common that the MC task falls into the hands of a close friend or relative, which can be a little daunting and take away from their enjoyment of your special day. It's not as simple as throwing around a few words and calling it a day.
As an MC, I will help plan and coordinate: The Group Photo, Canapes/Cocktail hour, Migration of Guests to the Reception, Housekeeping and Venue Liaising, Bridal Party Entry, Speeches (Inc Speaker Bio’s), Cutting of the Cake, First Dance & Parental Dance, Wedding Games plus the Bouquet Toss/Garter Toss should you opt in to that! The MC Package covers 5hrs starting from the end of the ceremony which is usually enough time to close out all the above formalities :)
Am I the right Celebrant for the job?
Your wedding should be a day you'll never forget (for all the right reasons). Simply put, I love LOVE and I love what I do and this shows in the level of service and support I provide to my couples.
I also have over a decade's worth of experience working in events, so in addition to getting a fun, fresh, youthful, and personable celebrant to guide you through the legalities of marriage and legal paperwork, you'll have me every step of the way should you need any ideas and tips for planning your big day.
Each wedding, couple and story is different, there is no right or wrong idea, which is why I'll work my hardest to integrate and tailor your vision into the ceremony to make your day as unique and memorable as possible.
Well, what are you waiting for? Let's catch up for a coffee and start planning your big day.
How far in advance should you book your Celebrant?
After selecting a date and placing a deposit on your venue, the celebrant should be the very next thing you book.
I'm currently taking bookings as far as two years in advance with many key dates during peak seasons starting to fill out. I recommend you make contact with me as soon as you select your date and we can lock in my celebrancy services to avoid missing out.
Note: By law, the latest I can take a booking is one calendar month before your wedding unless you have already signed and lodged a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form. See below for more information regarding “Legal Paperwork”.
What areas do I service and will I travel elsewhere?
I currently service Gold Coast/Hinterland, Brisbane, Scenic Rim, Tweed Coast/Valley, Sunshine Coast, and Byron Bay.
With that said, I'm more than happy to look into travelling to your preferred location in Australia.
A travel fee will apply for weddings outside of my main service locations, dependent on the distance required to travel, availability of transport, accomodation and other financial factors applicable. Contact me for more information.
When do we pay the deposit and full balance?
To secure my services as a celebrant for your chosen date, a deposit of $250 per package is required upon booking ($350 for Celebrant & MC), 50% of the total balance is due six months prior to your ceremony and the remaining balance due three months prior to your ceremony.
COVID-19 - What happens if we need to postpone?
I give a full guarantee to my couples that if your wedding date has to be postponed due to COVID-19, I will happily transfer your booking to a future available date.
Do I include a PA Sound System & Microphones ?
Yes. Included within all of my packages is a state of the art Mipro MA505 Battery Powered PA System which has bluetooth connectivity and an inbuilt wireless microphone system.
The system is small (which means it won't stick out in photos) and projects an incredible level of clear audio, which means you won't have to spend time and money hiring one. You're all set to play your music on it for the processional, signing and recessional at the end.
I have recently installed a high end digital recorder. For an extra fee you can take away a USB with the clear audio of your entire ceremony.
Please note: I encourage my couples to appoint a responsible friend or relative to attend to the music on the day so I can concentrate on my role as the Celebrant.
Do you need a rehearsal?
This is a personal decision but in my opinion, you don’t need a rehearsal (other than maybe the girls putting on those wedding shoes and walking to music from your start position to the position in which you will be at the arbour to (a) check the ground/gradient works with the shoe type you’re wearing and (b) to practice timing to make sure your hubby is crying like a little baby when you step out to the banging chorus). I guide you through every step of the rehearsal and 99% of all weddings I do take place without a rehearsal. The more natural you are, the better your photos are hence why I don’t feel rehearsals are necessary because we want your emotions on the big day to be raw and real, not rehearsed! Feel free to chat to me more!
Will your wedding in Australia be recognised worldwide?
Yes. All my marriages are recognised by law in Australia, and in most circumstances recognised by law around the world. However, there are some countries that require specific religious rituals and authorities to be observed during weddings, which I may not be authorised to deliver.
Will your name be automatically changed after the wedding?
No. On your wedding day, I'll supply you with a Commonwealth Certificate of Marriage (Form 15), however this is not a document that many institutions recognise for legal changes of names. You will need to apply for an Official Marriage Certificate from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriage in your state of marriage or for an additional fee (included in the Platinum package), I can organise this for you.
How long should your ceremony be?
Most ceremonies average between 15 and 30 minutes, however this is entirely up to you. I have prepared an "Expert Ceremony Planning Guide" which will help you select what you want included in your ceremony and based on that I will be able to assist you in estimating the total ceremony duration. I encourage couples to take into account the average age of attendees, temperature, time of day and a number of other factors when planning their ceremony in order to ensure the comfort of yourselves, your bridal party and guests.
What will I be wearing during the ceremony?
Lucky for you, I have quite the collection of suits and a minor addiction to R.M. Williams’ boots and Akubra wide brim hats. I can dress up, or down, to complement the theme and destination of your wedding. I'm more than happy to discuss my outfit with you should you desire.
Can I help you find other wedding service providers?

Moreover, I also have my own Wedding Planning and Services Company called When Two Become One Weddings . If you're interested, let's chat further.
