Civil Ceremonies

Alongside my services as a marriage celebrant, I also work as a civil celebrant, based on the Gold Coast.

So what’s the difference you ask? While a marriage celebrant conducts legal wedding ceremonies, a civil celebrant can create and deliver commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies and celebrations of life, all without the legal paperwork. These ceremonies are completely personal and can be held anywhere that feels right to you.

Commitment Ceremony

Commitment ceremonies are ideal for couples who wish to publicly declare and celebrate their love without entering into a legal contract, or who have already eloped and would like a public ceremony. This could be in the form of marrying overseas and celebrating back home with your loved ones. With a commitment ceremony, you can still include all unique elements like the ring exchange, vows and promises, without the legally binding component.

Vow Renewal Ceremony

"I do"… again! Have you reached a marriage milestone or do you simply want to reaffirm your love and commitment for each other? A vow renewal ceremony is a non-legal ceremony where you take the opportunity to reminisce and make promises for the future.

Baby Naming Ceremony

A great non-religious alternative to introduce your new bundle of joy to family and friends. It doesn’t need to be all “Simba on Pride Rock”, but perhaps a quaint ceremony in your local park, or a location that’s special to you.

Celebration of Life Ceremony

A celebration of life ceremony is an alternative way of saying goodbye to a loved one that, reflecting on their life, memories and how they will live on in people's hearts and minds. If you're looking for a kind and empathetic celebrant who will work with you during some of the toughest of times, I would be incredibly humbled to help plan and deliver the perfect send-off and celebration of life.
